    As-salamu alaykum dear students,

We hope you are doing well and have been listening to the Ramadan videos on our Iqra website.

Please take your time to answer these five questions as best as you can:

    1. How does fasting in Ramadan help strengthen your self-discipline and willpower?
    2. In what ways does Ramadan teach us gratitude and empathy for those in need?
    3. How can we balance school, work, and worship during Ramadan while staying productive?
    4. What role does the Quran play in Ramadan, and how can we deepen our connection with it?
    5. How can we make the most of Laylatul Qadr, and why is it considered the most powerful night?

May Allah accept your efforts and reward you abundantly.

How does fasting in Ramadan help strengthen your self-discipline and willpower?

Fasting teaches us to control our desires and be patient. By avoiding food, drink, and other things from dawn to sunset, we develop self-control and learn that we do not have to act on every desire immediately. This discipline can also help us make better choices in our daily lives.

    1. In what ways does Ramadan teach us gratitude and empathy for those in need?

Fasting helps us appreciate blessings that we often take for granted, such as food, water, and good health. Experiencing hunger can also increase our understanding of people who struggle with poverty and food insecurity. Ramadan encourages Muslims to give charity, feed others, and support those in need.

    2. How can we balance school, work, and worship during Ramadan while staying productive?

We can plan our days carefully, prioritise important tasks, and make use of our most productive hours. Creating a schedule around salah, studying, working, eating, and sleeping can help. It is also important not to overload ourselves and to remember that worship can include small, consistent acts of kindness and remembrance.

    3. What role does the Quran play in Ramadan, and how can we deepen our connection with it?

The Quran has a central role in Ramadan because it is the month in which Muslims believe the Quran was first revealed. Muslims can strengthen their connection with it by reading it regularly, listening to its recitation, learning its meanings, and reflecting on how its teachings can be applied to their lives.

    4. How can we make the most of Laylatul Qadr, and why is it considered the most powerful night?

Laylatul Qadr, the Night of Decree, is considered especially blessed because the Quran describes it as better than a thousand months. Muslims can make the most of it by praying, making sincere dua, asking Allah for forgiveness, reading the Quran, and remembering Allah. It is traditionally sought during the last ten nights of Ramadan, especially the odd-numbered nights.
