Story

One evening, Sami felt a little afraid. His room was darker than usual, and he wanted his mother.

She came and sat beside him.

Sami said softly, “I feel scared.”

His mother held his hand and said, “When we feel scared, sad, or worried, we can ask Allah for help.”

Sami looked at her and asked, “Can Allah hear me?”

His mother smiled gently. “Yes. Allah hears your dua.”

Sami sat up a little. “My dua?”

“Yes,” she said. “When you ask Allah, Allah hears you.”

Sami closed his eyes for a moment. Then he whispered, “O Allah, help me.”

His mother smiled. “That is a dua.”

Sami took a deep breath. He felt calmer now. He was not alone. Allah heard him.

He whispered again, “Allah hears my dua.”

Then he lay down peacefully, knowing that he could always call upon Allah.
